The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, The - wallpaper 6 I just delved into The Witcher series of RPG games via the third installment in the series – The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.  If you like the Fantasy RPG genre, this game’s a definite must.  I’ve played through all of the Dragon Age RPG series.  There’s just this nice balance of martial combat and magic (via sigils) in the game.  So far my biggest complaint is not having enough carrying capacity.  I’m a pack rat by nature in games like this so I like to have lots of storage and whatnot for crafting weapons and armor.  The environment is just gorgeous with a lot of variety.   Add in the changing weather conditions and the environment really shines.  More on this later when I’m not playing! 😀

Star Wars: The Old Republic

Star Wars: The Old RepublicBioWare’s plunged head-on into the Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) arena with their impending launch of SW:TOR.  I’ve had a chance to play a couple of the beta weekends.  The class quests are just top shelf.  So far I’ve tested out the Bounty Hunter and Smuggler class.  The Bounty Hunter companion (Mako) heals you.  The Smuggler companion (Riggs) shoot stuff.  More on this later.

Borderlands revisited.

Okay, it’s time to fire up Borderlands again while I’m on spring break.  Haven’t made it too far yet, and I’m still liking the way the game was designed with that comic book black-pen outline around most of the artwork.  I took my hunter through the first playthrough of Borderlands and stopped.  I always enjoy the storyline more than I do running through the game with each character class.

This downloadable content’s pretty good.  You can see how playing this in four person coop would just rock.  Like they said, the level cap’s been increased and more fun weapons have been added.  So far I’ve knocked off Mr Shank at Lockdown Palace.   I rescued Athena and now she’s giving me new missions to run.  I’m sure I’ll run into General Knoxx at the end.  The plot seems pretty straight forward.  Find the big guy and blast him.   That’ll put a cramp in Atlas’ operations on the planet.  More on this later when I have more time to play.  Classes start up again on Monday and I still need to knock out that second project in Python.
